New index to Records of Bucks 1-5 now on-line
8 July 2013
The contents of the first five volumes of Records of Bucks, published in parts between 1854 and 1878, have now been indexed by former BAS Librarian and Archivist Diana Gulland.
The 1,800 new index entries have been added to the searchable index on this website. So the results returned by all future subject searches will now include any references in volumes 1-5. The new entries range from 'Abbeys, Biddlesden' to 'Wykeham, Herbert of Tythrop'.
Indexing the five volumes has been a considerable task, and one that is still incomplete. The on-line index now includes volumes 1-5 and 11-47. Work to add volumes 48-52 is now in progress, and the indexing of volumes 6-10 will start in the autumn.
