The society's Historic Buildings Group was active in the years 2008 to 2013, when its members used their skills, knowledge and enthusiasm to record historic buildings across the county. The group's members recorded historic buildings in Wingrave, Hedgerley, Stowe, Great Horwood – and old public houses in seven towns and villages. Their aim was to promote the recording and preservation of historic buildings in Buckinghamshire and to make the findings publicly available. Anyone with a passion for historic buildings was welcome to join the group; prior knowledge and experience were not essential. After an initial series of workshops, the group built up a set of on-line resources which allowed members to take part in a range of projects, involving both survey work and historical research. The results of the group's work – activities, projects, events and resources – are all available on this website by clicking on any of the links above. Copies of Historic Building Survey Reports may be printed from this website or consulted in the BAS Library in Aylesbury. There are always historic buildings that need surveying and no doubt another Historic Buildings Group will be formed at some time. If you are interested in joining such a group, please contact Peter Marsden.
