The Natural History Section was formed in 1947 by Nora Barlow, granddaughter of Charles Darwin, with the purpose of arranging an annual programme of field meetings and talks for members of the Society who wished to explore the County’s wildlife and geology. Today, the Section continues to explore the County’s plants, animals and fossils (and those of neighbouring Counties) through a varied programme of walks and talks. Please click here for details of our current programme. Talks start at 2.30 on Saturday afternoons and are usually held in the County Museum, Aylesbury. Walks also start at 2.30 unless otherwise stated.
The Section is run by a small committee. Meetings comprise an autumn committee meeting and a spring AGM. If you would like to become more involved and help out with the committee please contact Mike Palmer at the address given.
