The Society's Responses to the HS2 plans
THE HS2 HISTORIC IMPACT ASSESSMENT PROJECT
AT EVERY STAGE the Buckinghamshire Archaeological Society has responded to the plans
for the HS2 high-speed rail line.
At every stage the society's aim has been to draw attention to the damage that the new line
will do to the historic environment of the county – listed and unlisted buildings, archaeological
sites, landscapes and scheduled monuments. Our aim was always to try to avoid or minimise this damage.

At every stage we have not only provided HS2 Limited with reasoned responses to their plans,
and to every change in the plans that affected the historic environment, but we have also backed these
up with detailed surveys and documentary research on the assets affected.
