Conference 2020
The Buckinghamshire Local History Network – BLHN for short – has held its Conference and Local History Fair every year since 2000.
BLHN is a collaboration between the Bucks Archaeological Society, which has the county-wide membership and capacity to run a big conference, and the historic county's local history, archaeology and heritage societies, which provide speakers, local research and displays longside the Conference in the Local History Fair. The historic county includes Milton Keynes.
The conference and fair is held in the Autumn, traditionally in different towns around the county, and has covered on a wide range of Buckinghamshire subjects:
• 2023: Putting our local heritage on the map
• 2022: The cottage industries of Buckinghamshire
• 2021: Shopping in Buckinghamshire
– from medieval market places to modern retail parks
• 2020: Wellers, Wethereds, Wheelers and the ABC
– Buckinghamshire brewers through three centuries
• 2019: Social Housing in Buckinghamshire – from almshouses to Right-to-Buy
...to name but a few.
